can I use this feed ?

I was joking about the hunters, it's small area here where everybody knows everybody so they give us plenty of space. I am more concerend with the hound dogs running around so that's why I try to keep them in or near the pens.

I have one neighbor, a nice guy, and he knows I have pet turkeys,
but loves to shoot everything.
He even has a gunrack on his John Deere tractor.
(you might be a redneck if...)
I'll just have to keep my turks from wandering too far.

You guys have the greatest ideas! We have people sneaking on our back property all the time, and it's dangerous for my husband to go out to hunt on our own property- I didn't ever think about someone shooting our birds!!! Something else to worry about- we will have to see what the probability is out here.

We have NO TRESPASSING signs on the back of our place that reads as follows.

NO TRESPASSING
VIOLATORS WILL BE SHOOT
SURVIVORS WILL BE SHOOT AGAIN
THEN WE DIAL 911.

This has stopped most, but there are a few CITY folks that have come out here and can't read or don't care so you have to meet them in the field and tell them Next time you may not be as LUCKY................ Now the reason for these signs is because one year when we were raising wild turkeys some hunters came to our place and stole some out of there pens.

We have had a hard time finding good feed, when we do they stop selling it I have found a Mill that makes there own feed it is a 180 mile round trip so we buy a lot when we go (20 bags) this is about 2 weeks of feeding. It is 28% Medicated Quail Starter and they have pretty good 16 % lay crumbles for our poultry as well this feed is made by A & M Feeds they also have a 18 % breeder feed that we will try next year to see how that works.

Yep Steve, That those TURKEY man can they eat. my feed bill drop alot after I sold my turkey. A turkey must eat 4 times what a peacock eats.

2500 pounds that's just a little over a ton of feed. The 20 bags that I was talking about was just for the chick starter and lay crumbles that didn't include the 20 bags chicken scratch, 10 bags Game Fowl feed and I didn't add all the other feed to that list for the Dogs 5 bags, Cats 2 bags, Llamas ?, Cows ?. Sure I'll trade feed bills with you, I take a 18' gooseneck to the feed mill when we go, we buy so much feed that we have been thinking about becoming a feed dealer for our area.

When we had Turkeys they would eat or waste a ton (40 bags) of feed a month by them selves, then I got smart and sold all my Turkeys and now selling a lot of my peafowl breeders and chickens as well. This as dropped my feed bill.
