Can I usePetsafe rock salt near the runz.

Our run has a roof and three covered sides so snow isn't a problem, but it's icy on the way to the coop n run, I use pet friendly salt everywhere else, my concern is I may track it into the run. We live in central Massachusetts so lots of snow & ice, this is my first winter as a chicken caretaker so I hope someone more experienced can help TIA

I wouldn't use it......I don't like to use salt at all because it can be toxic to the ground too...as well as my pups feet.

I keep my path to the coop well shoveled and use sand for traction on icy spots.
