Up at the barn
I started the month by breaking my arm. Then the deep freeze hit Alabama. Things here are really not constructed for temps in the low teens, so first the water pipes to the barn froze. Then the house pipes froze. Next the heat went out. The final straw happened today.

Go to the optometrist to update my computer glasses and she says she thinks she sees the start of diabetic retinopathy and refers me to an ophthalmologist, suggesting that I haul all the way to UAB Medical Center in Birmingham to see someone there. This does not sound promising! (Anybody have any experience with this?)

And the new year is only 15 days old!

It may not be diabetic retinopathy. Sometimes it's ideopathic. You will need follow up in a few months to know for sure. I went through the same thing in 2008. Turned out to be an isolated event. That was a bit rough waiting though.

And of course you are taking care of the diabetes!

Imp- Good luck

Work the diabetes at the max to control. My wife is on a slow decline from it. when her suger level is under 200 we get excited. 5 to7 shots daily Sorry for whineing. just be careful if you can.
