Can it be too hot outside for chicks?

I've got 6-week old chicks that are spending time each day outside to get them familiar with the run and surroundings and big sisters nearby. They enjoy it a lot.
But's going to be 90 degrees today. The run is covered so they are in the shade but there's no breeze so it's pretty hot. They have fresh water but I'm seeing one panting. Should I take them indoors or can they now regulate their temps in cold AND hot temps?

They should be able to handle 90 without issue at that age. I would put out shallow pans of cool (not cold) water for them to drink from and stand in to cool down. I use terracotta planter saucers, so it's very shallow and slip resistant.

Haha they love it...like a wading pool to also drink from and pick dirty stuff out of!

It's been in the upper 90's for me and chickens fro a few weeks to a few months are doing fine. They have tree shade and lots of clean water. I should put out wading pools for kids I think. I suspect fights might break out when 100 or so all want in the pool at once.
