Can My chickens lay eggs in constant shade?

Hey guys, I recently had to move my chickens and their coop into a place with constant shade. It's not that dark, maybe as bright as a cloudy day. can they still lay eggs?
Of course they can.

They're not plants, they don't need direct sunlight. Ambient light is fine.
Unless they are... hens and chicks 😎 😅

When people ask about supplemental lighting in a coop being bright enough, the usual answer is that if it's bright enough to read a newspaper by, it's bright enough. So open shade will be enough, I'm sure.

Now, the question I have is, who is reading newspapers these days?
