They're great breeds for heat. I'm in South East Texas where the humidity and heat are high as headed in summer.
We have Barred and Rhodes as well. They do just fine.
Make sure there's air flow, we installed a small industrial fan in top back corner of coop just to keep air moving.
During high heat days I make chicken I've cream for them. Lol
I dice sweet veggies and fruit into water and freeze into "peck block" that I then set out under the fan flow. Cools the air and the birds!
We also put a small wadding pool in the run under shade trees that they love to play in from time to time.
We save all the wood at possible in winter and put that out as well.
They're tough birds and usually nap in shady areas in heat of day.
I won't let anyone in our coop between 1pm and 5pm so they are undisturbed and rest quietly.
Watermelon is a great treat as well. Keeps them hydrated when humidity gets high here and the last thing they want to do is drink.
