I was wondering if it is possible to use grass clippings+wood chips for poult bedding. Does it affect the performance of the birds in any significant way?

Thanks in advance!

I think it would be just fine. I feed chickens grass all the time and they love it! The chickens may eat the clippings. If you let the grass sit for a few days, I don't think they would be as likely to. It could get a little stinky because rotting grass does not smell good.

I take grass clippings and spread them on our blacktop driveway on a sunny day, I fluff and move them around several times till they are dry then I bag them up and use them all winter. Even though they are dried they still have the fresh summer smell.

So as long as you dry them first they won't rot and get stinky.
