Can oyster shells get wet?

They sure do. But I saw someone post on here that they will begin to leach calcium and I asked.

They’re pretty much entirely calcium carbonate. The bits may get smaller, but if you can see them, the girls can eat them and get their calcium

Yup they live in water. But not in flake form. It was a legitimate question based off something I read on this forum.
