Can roosters change the egg color??

I have a creme-colored coturnix female. She has been laying brown-spotted eggs for two years now.

Her last two eggs are white with teal speckles -a completely different egg.

The male joined us a year ago and has been successfully mating with all the females, but never has an egg changed like this.

He is an A&M as far as I know, but would his genes affect the egg?

Unfortunately no. That would be neat if it did.

Did she just start laying again for the year? That sounds like an egg that missed the speckling stage. It'll probably go back to normal in a few days. I got a bunch of double yolks last week when mine started laying for the year but they are back to singles now.

Speckled eggs lay diff colors all the time.
