I thought that but I thought maybe Jacob was a pullet. No wattles yet. Does spar with the other 3… maybe? They look to all be cockerels to me.
I'm not very good at telling the gender of silkies, but my guess is cockerel. @MysteryChickenI thought that but I thought maybe Jacob was a pullet. No wattles yet. Does spar with the other 3… maybe?

Got it. Thank you! I watch them alot every day. If I see "foul play" I can section them off and find a new home for the roos. I rehomed 2. I'm waiting to see if Jacob is a girl (I still hope). And thinking of getting more hens for Tails and hoping he is not loud... time will tell. I won't let me hens get abusedThe problem isn't the roosters fighting, it's the hens getting overbred. They'll rip out their neck feathers and wear away the feathers on their backs. You can get chicken saddles to help with this but it's still stressful for the girls.
Even Jacob? Wahhh that's my luck... 4 out of 5 roos...Yes, cockerels for sure.
Pretty sure Jacob is a cockerel too.Even Jacob? Wahhh that's my luck... 4 out of 5 roos...
