Can Sandhill cranes get west Nile?

Hi, I have a Sandhill crane and I was wondering if she could get the West Nile virus?
I have a swamp in my backyard which always has standing water. There are other cranes that live back there and never seem sick. Are they resistint to west Nile?
Also would the nipple water system help prevent the virus in my pheasants, since the mosquito not get to the water? Thanks

Pretty sure that any bird can get West Nile.

They get the virus from being bitten by an infected mosquito. So sealing the water system would prevent mosquito's from breeding in it, but would not prevent bites from mosquito's that are out there.
