I have a severely crossed beak chicken that is about the right age to start laying eggs. We feed her a mash twice a day but she is still small compared to her same age flock. She's feisty and seems healthy other than being small. My son just asked me if she would ever lay eggs. I had always just assumed no because she's so small, but I don't actually know. Can a chicken lay eggs if she's small?

Yes, small chickens can still lay eggs, as long as there isn't something internally wrong with their reproductive tract. Many bantam breeds still lay large numbers of eggs, despite their size.
