I have three silkies, one grown up and two babies - who seem to have a simply endless appetite! I feed them in a bowl each morning (they don't like to eat from the ground!) and they then have another one at lunchtime when everyone has a snack and then another one before they go to bed - mind you, its rarely empty in between. They are in a run outside and quite active and I know they are growing, but really!
So, then i started to wonder if they can get fat?

Chickens can get too fat. I had a hen who was really greedy and since she didn't bother to lay much (laid her first egg when she was 8 months old), she really piled it on.

Are your silkies pets?
