I do try, although I'm never sure how well I succeed.

And I've just remembered one thing I am very bad at: distinguishing serious comments from sarcasm or humor online. There have been several times that I gave a detailed response to something, and then I was told it was not meant as a real question at all. I've wondered how many more times it happens without me ever learning that I was wrong.
