oh i’m not going to do. a metal coop. i already have a sheet metal roof and that was almost as miserable to work with as the sand hardware clothWe are zone 7 in Prescott. But it is a lot dryer than Puyallup. We are from Seattle, and I would maybe not have this kind of coop there. Here the problem is heat. I use old sheet metal roofing to block wind and rain, we do get some snow in the winter. Mine will go on cinder blocks for the winter so I can put in bedding. I use an electric net fence to keep the coyotes away. In the winter, I will be depending on the wire and cinder block footing, snow could shut down the fence occasionally!

my neighbors recently had a coyote in her back yard but I have 3 security dogs. nothing survives jumping over my fence. I realized this morning that my chickens high tail it in the coop when one of my dogs does a certain bark. i found that fascinating. they usually ignore them. my 3 yard sharks are never allowed anywhere near my birds. and i have dual doors to make sure no one slips through lol.
