I am a first time chick mommy.
Yesterday my little chick was fine ( about 2-3 weeks old) Just got off work and found him finding by the waterer when I went to pick him up I saw that his toes care curled towards the inside of its legs. He isn't peeping as if he/she is in pain. I don't know what is going on or what I should do. Someone please help?

and say sorry this has happened to your chick, could be a vitamin defiency and if you can get some poly-vi-sol w/o iron and dribble some onto his beak a couple times a day might help, and heres a link explaining what to do for orthopedic problems. If you can go to the feed store of TSC. you can get a supplement called save-a-chick you mix in water. can't think of anything else. make sure it's warm and has fresh food and water.

THanks for replying so quickly. I have been using Save-A-Chick vitamin supplements in there water. I don't put the whole packet in becasue my vet said all the salt in it wasn't good for them.

Im having the same probs but nobody is answering my post

Is you little one putting his wing out to balance at all? Im baffled as to what happened. I hope you get some good advice as to how to help yours.

He is getting around a little bit he is some how walkking an the back of his legs but only when he needs to move. I have been watching him and he is eating.

Yep I have some chickens that are 8 weeks old and I gave them one packet with 1 gallon water. Then I got some younger ones and asked my vet about it and she told me to give them only half because of the high sodium. My 8 week old chicks turned out fine. I've been just having problems with these 2-3 week old ones.

I found this site, and wondered if it would help you. If you scroll down, there are pictures of splints for the toes.. Maybe this will help save their feet??

Here is more info:

Curled Toes
Curled Toe Paralysis is when the toes are curled and the chick walks on the tops of his curled toes, rather than the sides of the toes as with crooked toes. It is painful for the chick so he will usually spend most of the time sat on his hocks resting or walking around on his hocks. Often chicks will die at about 3 or 4 weeks old. Curled toes are caused by a deficiency in Riboflavin. If hens have not had the correct diet (layers pellets for example without access to other foods like greens) this can sometimes occur but can also happen if the chicks starter crumbs contain insufficient Riboflavin. In the latter case, the chicks usually get curled toes after a week or two.

If you are quick enough in diagnosing curled toes (during the first day or two that the chick cannot stand up) then you can treat them with a multivitamin drink that contains Riboflavin. The toes will straighten out after a few days but if you aren't quick enough, permanent damage will have been done and the toes will continue to grow curled.
