Found my hen unable to walk. Have separated her. No one is showing any other symptoms within the flock. She cannot stand on her legs and when I first discovered her one of her feet was curled up. I have given her vitamin b and am giving her rooster booster. Any thoughts?? She is 15 weeks old so I don’t believe she is egg bound.

Do you have a rooster? She could have an injury, possibly jumping down from a roost. Do you notice any swelling in her legs or feet? Was she vaccinated for Mareks disease? Mareks can show up at her age, and may cause lameness and curled under toes. What B vitamin are you giving? Human super B complex which has riboflavin (B2) and all other B’s 1/4 to 1/2 tablet daily could help. I would give it for a few weeks.

I do have a rooster the same age but have not noticed him trying to mount the hens yet. As far as I can tell her legs look fine. I am unsure about the vaccine we purchased her from a farm so I doubt she was vaccinated. I gave her a super b complex 1/4 tablet mixed with water and some rooster booster. Should I keep her isolated and with vitamins for a few weeks? If Mareks is the cause what can I expect over the next few days?

Some breeds are more susceptible to deficiencies and disease than others. What breed is she? Thanks!

Marek's or Riboflavin(B2) deficiency can cause these symptoms.I sincerely hope she recovers.

She was sold as a lavender Orpington. I hope as well that it is not Marek’s. She is eating her favorite snacks. Hoping perhaps vitamin deficiency or sprain but don’t see any swelling. I have given her vitamin b the super one with all of the b’s in it and rooster booster cell.

Chickens are prone to deficiencies and disease when young.I hope the vitamins help her.I would keep her in a cool place where she isn't stressed and make sure she has lots of water
