Hi, I'd really love to get some Cochin's, they have them at a local feed store, but I really would like to know what they look like as a chick and then grown up! Thanks guys!

here is a pic of my blue hen Doodle she is 2 years old and took a first at the Sunshine Classic show in January

I'm just getting started with them, I had been avoiding getting "another feather footed breed" to wallow in the mud I have here, but now that I have them, I can't believe I waited so long to get them!!! I am in LOVE!!

Here are some chicks I just hatched...blue and black mottled...ignore the yellow chicks...

This isn't the greatest pic, but it's a black mottled pullet I just had shipped here from Ohio....she is SO awesome!! I bought her from thecochincoop...find them on the user list, and they have a website you can look at... Anyway, she is super sweet, talks to me whenever I say anything to her, squats cuz she knows I'm boss hen...I could go on and on...get the chicks, you WON'T be sorry!!!

My son has been dying to raise a bantam...I saw cochin's the other day and thought about looking for one for him! I have only been around one bantam - and it was extremely friendly. Is this breed friendly too? Those are some pretty pics of cochins!

Oh my gosh - SO friendly!!! They are super popular with the 4H kids...in fact, that's who I hatched these chicks for - a bunch of my 4Hers!!

From what I've read they are extremely friendly, docile breed. Thanks guys! I mean they have black/yellow ones, yellow, creamy-white, grey-blue ones, white-gey-blue ones, chipmonk, red ones, all kinds of colors, they are so cute! I'm trying to figure out which one of those colors(of the chicks) will turn into as an adult!

The yellow/black ones should be mottled, though if there is lots of black and just a little yellow, they are just black, yellow = white, grey-blue = blue, chipmunk = partridge...

So what about the red? Will they grow up as red to? And the light grey-bluey-white ones(sorry, I can't really explain it...but from pics, I think those will be splash?)

I adore my cochins. Not the greatest layers. They really want to be mommas more than they want to feed you but nonetheless they are so sweet and fun. My 8 yr old son calls them "Jellybeans with feet" because of their shape and colors.
