mine have black/slate legs too, i guess with the blue wyandotte slate legs is a possibility, at first i though i had gotten blue ameraucanas due to the comb but they have not grown any beards and now that they are bigger their bodies deffinately look like wyandottes i will try to post some more recent pictures of mine since they are about 13-14 weeks old now
I am pretty sure that mine are blue Wyandottes now too. I have done a lot of reading and I see that it is apparently hard to get them to have the desirable yellow legs. And the bodies look like Wyandottes, so I am more comfortable now that I have them and not Andalusians. I really like Wyandottes! The pictures of yours look just like my birds.
I actually have andalucians too and you can kind of see them in the back ground of both pictures, the bodies are really different i like the Wyandottes too
Maybe next year I'll try again for Blue Laced reds
Here are mine.
They are really pretty and the body shape does not look like the Andalusian at all, so I am now confident that I have Blue Wyandottes, even though they were sold to me as Blue Lace Red Wyandottes.
Where did you all get your blue wyandottes? I had one who was so very loving but died suddenly at the age of 2 (vet found cancer in necropsy). I miss seeing her every day. She was the most beautiful in my flock. I can't find anyone who sells them less than 15 a minimum order. I would like to get 3 more (and I actually prefer the slate legs to yellow, because that's what Milly had).
So glad I found this thread. I'm in the same situation, I thought I got a Blue laced Red Wyndotte chick from local store ( who get their chicks from Prichett Hatchery) and it doesn't look like it. The photos in this thread confirmed it for me. thank you!
