Can Someone Tell Me What Color My Silkies Are????

If you have roos and hens breed them together and see what you get. If they are replicas of the parents, then you would have Columbian silkies. Beautiful either way...enjoy them !

I like them they are very pretty. it takes forever (up to 18 months ) for a silkie to fully mature. yes you can show them as long as they don't have any DQs get a copy of the standard and learn it. since they are not a recognized color they can not win best of breed but they can get all other variety. Lavenders are not recognized either. I think you have something very unique there after they start laying I would be happy to swap some eggs with you if you would like some whites or cuckoo silkies. here is one of my white boys

That Would Be Great!! I Do Have A Roo And Hens Together. But How Will I Know If They Came From The Same Parents Since I Dont Know Who The Original Breeder Was, They Were Gotton Off Ebay From A Girl In Holly Michigan Who Bought Them . Should I Let Them Brred Or Will I Have Genetic Problems? When Should I Look For Eggs From Them???

Well, You will not know if you don't breed them. I would surely breed them!

ETA- Silkie girls will usually start to lay between 6-8 months of age, so may take a little longer some sooner.

I think your silkies are actually prettier than the ones shown in the link! I would love to have a few chicks if you ever do breed them. Good luck!

you don't have to worry about breeding brothers and sisters in chickens as much as you do in dogs or horses. they should lay at about 6-8 months sometimes a little longer they may wait until spring:p
