chickens to have blood in their poop? I went to a swap meet and bought some peeps and laying hens on Saturday. Well needless to say they had blood in their poop but now it is looking more normal, a little carmilezed color with the white. I have them on medicated chick starter and water. They seem to be eating and drinking fine. But I am wondering if they could have worms. Would their poop stay bloody if they did or would change from time to time? Also I tried to introduce my 2 month old peeps to my flock and one of them had blood and now it is gone. I am soo confused! Can anyone help please? Sorry for the long post.

I don't think stress would cause that. You definitely need to keep the new ones quarantined from the rest of your flock for a solid month. Everything I have read says that blood in their stool indicates cocci, but hopefully someone more knowledgeable than myself will come on to help you.
