Can the recent discussions include more info...

I often think it would be nice if on the home page, where it lists recent discussions, it included which section of the forum the discussion originates in. This is the page as it appears now.

Only once I click into it do I see this, that the discussion is in 'quail'

Unfortunately, I don't think we have that as an option. If you hover on the link, it will show a snippet of the post, though.
