My next set of chicks will be coming in june and i have chickens (and geese) that'll be 2 months old in june should i build a roof or top on top of the starter box so the chickens wont fly in?

I would say yes to protect your new addition, I have 4 - four wk old and a few 2 1/2 week old chicks in the same brooder with chicken wire partition. The older ones pecks on the younger ones whenever they get near them, considering they're only over a week older.

My brooder is built into the coop. The top acts as a droppings board. The chicks go in here as soon as they come out of the incubator. As long as you can provide a warm spot for them to go to warm up when they need to there is no reason your brooder can’t be in the coop. They do need to be securely locked in.
