It is a tarantula and I can safely say that there is not a colony of them living in your yard.

Its just so dang creepy and it ran right over my foot! After I scraped myself off the ceiling I had to change me shorts! I guess I can take it back to the barn and let it go. Its still in the bowl I caught it in with breathing holes. I dont want to kill it but EEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWW

We have them all over especially after a good rain. I have seen them here where I live in n.m. as big as a dinner saucer. They eat bad bugs and I have picked them up and never been bitten. Totally let I go down the road or something....who knows it mite eat the bad bug that would one day hurt you or your chickens hahaha karma you know what I mean.
