Can they sleep with Red Heat light on?

If you are having an issue with a heat source that provides light, just get a "reptile " ceramic heat coil. They have them in 100, 150, 200 and 250 watt units.

I have converted ALL my heat sources to these and they seem to last. I us the 150 watt ones and it keep the electric bill almost manageable. The 250 watt red or white heat lamps used to spin my meter just a bit too fast.

I hang my heat lamp about 1 1/2 feet above the floor. The dome keeps the light off of the roosting birds, & the heat rises to them. They sleep well.

no hijaking intended but i read recently that the white lamp reduces on feather pick a problem ive been having with my bantam ameraucanas. so does the white hinder sleep at all? the red doesnt mine but will the white?
