can turkeys get horses sick?

I was thinking of getting 2 turkeys this spring for raising for turkey dinner this fall. when i mentioned it to my older sister she said turkeys can get our horses seriously sick.

does anyone know if this is true and please let me know

I found THIS from the Merck Veteranary Manual. It seems that turkeys, via mosquitos, can be a disease vector for horses. But really, the world is full of germs and life goes on.
