Can used wood chips go in a composter?

How is the best way to get rid of the wood chips that come out the coop?

Compost them, or just put them on your flower beds as mulch!

Unless you have a really hot pile they take for EVER to break down all the way. As long as there is plenty of other materials in your compost the wood chips will help make a really nice finished product though.

if they are "shavings" they will compost faster. if they have poo in them you will need to compost them before you use them.

Yes they will take forever, try using them in an area where they don't have to be in a hurry to break down, I always put my chips in the slow cooking pile that only get's used every yr or so, so it is ready to go from the first shovel.

Takes about 6 months for mine to fully compost but then my pile runs a lil hot and i turn it every week.
