Yeh I totally agreeI've only had chickens for 6 months so I don't know much... Here's what I just did/accomplished.... Washed every single one of my 30 eggs with cold water right after retrieving from the nest box, kept them in the fridge for 2 weeks......... put 18 under a broody hen, 14 hatched.....put 12 in the incubator 8 hatched, 1 didn't make it thru the hatching process and 3 who knows.... Here's what I've learned... No matter what, it's easier to let the hens hatch em, raise em, they keep em warm teach em what to eat etc....... no more incubators, brooders, to much time involved... The bottom line in my opinion is "let mother nature do her job."
