Can we get a list together of chicken breeds that can be crossed to produce sex linked or auto sexin

I would love to hear some of the mixes that some people have come up with to solve the "rooster" problem, lol!! I am interested in knowing what breeds can be crossed to produce chicks that can be sexed at hatch. I already know that there are certain breeds like cream leg bars that auto sex but just wondering for the people who have no access to rarer birds what can we mix to get chicks we can sex so it will be easier to figure out who to keep and who to sell immediately without too much wasted time or investment?Thanks for any insights and breed suggestions!

I did some digging on this topic once and copied down some of the info I found, in hopes of doing it myself some day. I've got some various breed chicks right now that I ordered with this in mind; if all goes well, I will have a roo that's RIR and one of my hens will be Barred Rock. Here's what I found:

RIR roo x Barred Rock hen = Black Sex Link
Both sexes hatch out black, but the males have a white dot on their heads. Males feather out with the Barred Rock pattern along with a few red feathers.
New Hampshire Roo x White Rocks hen = Golden Comet
New Hampshire Roo x Silver Laced Wyandotte hen = Cinnamon Queen
Rhode Island Red Roo x Rhode Island White hen = Red Sex Link
RIR roo x White leghorn hen = Red Sex Link
Production Red x Delaware = Red Sex Link
Males hatch out white and, depending on the cross, feather out to pure white or with some black feathering. Females hatch out buff or red also depending on cross, and they feather out in one of three ways.

I started a thread recently discussing this topic. My idea was to just have one Rhode Island Red rooster and the four hen breeds listed to produce four different sex link types. This way a person could have one flock with a lot of variety with types of chickens that are commonly recognizable.

Black Sex Links are a breed cross using Rhode Island Red males and Barred Plymouth Rock females.

Gold Sex Links are a breed cross using Rhode Island Red males and Rhode Island White females.

Red Sex Links are a breed cross using Rhode Island Red males and Delaware females.

Brown Sex Links are a cross using Rhode Island Red males and silver factor White Rock females.

According to the information I found on the Internet, it states that ISA Brown is a hybrid that resulted from crossing Rhode Island Reds and Rhode Island Whites.

ISA Brown was created by a corporation, so I do not think the exact details are public. ISA Brown was probably created after many crossings.

hrhta812---per the info on the above thread, the white Rocks are an iffy choice as they carry dominant white at times. I believe Leghorns are also dominant white, so not a good choice.

Yeah, I noticed it said "silver factor white" and I wondered how do you know if it has a silver factor??? I'm going to have to settle for black sex links, because I have my heart set on a RIR rooster to go along with a few RIR girls to make more RIRs, and so I ordered a couple Barred Rock gals hoping to breed sex links later on. One has died so I really hope the other one makes it.

We used to have a reddish sex link, not sure which exact combo she came from, but she was a really great layer.

That is a good idea. With your plan you can hatch out both pure breed Rhode Island Reds and Black Sex Links.

Will you use a broody hen or an incubator?
