We are very new to this whole chicken family thing and I am wondering if we can put the bedding pellets we clean out of the plastic tub directly onto the garden? I realize this is probably a silly question.

No! Chicken poop is Hot! Hot means it will burn the roots of your plants and they will die. I've even killed tomato plants by putting regular fertilizer too close to them. Chicken poop should be composted for around a year before using it in your garden.

What kind of bedding pellets are you using? The reason I ask is that even the pine shavings I use with my chicks has to be composted or it will rob the soil of vital nutrients. So, composting for sure for me.
