We were ransacked yesterday. Red, our favorite hen is the only survivor. Her wounds are bad. We were finally able to really get it cleaned up and assess her. The skin on her back is torn down under her wing. Will it grow back. Do we have to stitch it??? The first three pics are the flap of skin. The fourth is the other deep laceration.
She’s also limping but no sign of leg injury. Could there be internal injury?

I spoke to a vet and we can't justify the expense. We are going to try to stitch it ourselves or something. I thought of maybe putting tegaderm over it. she is so resilient. She laid an egg in her hospital cage today. She is eating and drinking, standing and walking, though still limping. I see now that there are a lot of feathers missing under her, so I need to check her leg when we take her out again but I'm trying to let her rest right now. We picked up some antibiotics and some other wound care stuff. Maybe we can do this 🤷‍♀️
