So I was wondering if I could use some of the grass clippings as nesting material, but I'm wondering if mites or wood mites can breed infrass. I already know they can breed in the rabbit hay in using but I'm out of it and they won't have it in stock till next week. Will grass clippings work? It's also fresh sense I cut it this morning.

Certain types of mites do prefer uncut tall weedy grass. I would imagine like grass hay or alfalfa hay, live mites don't stick around in dried grasses. So once dried, it may be safe to use.

However if you are using a lawn mower to cut this grass, I definitely wouldn't use it. Mowers spew out all kinds of toxic fumes, oil and exhaust. Hand cut only.
