Can you add another small coop with one that is already there?

Wondering if they would use both coops and split up or if they won't use the other coop...have 6 chickens??

No, I don't have any roosters.

Welcome to BYC!

Chickens are creatures of habit and will probably not use both coops. They will return to the coop where they have been roosting and surviving all this time. So you will probably need to shut one down or designate one coop for one flock and the other coop for the other flock.

Hello and Welcome To BYC! They will probably pick one coop (usually the older) and stay with it, but if you have a bossy hen some of the lower ranking birds may decide they'd like to roost away from her and stay in the new coop.
