Can you cross breeds chickens

Short answer is yes. But, are you talking about bantams or just dufferent breeds of LF? Might be a bad idea to breed a large rooster with small hens, just because the hens might get hurt.

there are a few rules that are good to know, like don't breed fizzles together.
For things like that, crossing breeds is safer than breeding purebreds :)

For all the ones I can think of, the problem happens when breeding chickens that are the same (frizzle x frizzle, or short-legged x short-legged Japanese, or tufted x tufted Araucana). In any of those cases, crossing them to another breed would be fine.

The short answer is... YES!!! There are many crossed breeds of chickens. In fact, lots of "breeds" were crossed at some point.
