My Americana went broody to days ago but my Wyandotte is adding eggs I marked em all yesterday before a second late egg was added . So I was wondering can an egg that has been sat on since yesterday be ate or refrigerated today?. And are roosters not good to be around chicks ? Also I have tried using my still air incubator 4 times no more luck than one that looked like it got halfway could there be a genetics flaw between my dark brahma rooster and silver Wyandotte an Americana hens? if that isn't the case Im hoping shes alot better at hatching than me. Thanks a ton for the help.

i would think you could still eat/refrigerate an egg thats only been sat on for a day. as far as your bator, wow, 4 times with no results? how many eggs did you try to hatch during those 4 tries? i have good success with my Hovabator but it's not a still air. did you add water to the bator for humidity?

I have two hens one roo. I tried 8 to 12 eggs , the first too times I didn't notice the water basin so I used sponges for humidity.

yes some had some blood one had a chick shape but that's as far as its gotten so far. Do you think its more likely a bad rooster or bad incubation temps and humid. I read somewhere that if theres any of your chicken stool on the egg it can mess it up do you think a dirty nest could be the reason for all the wasted eggs?
