Can you eat the eggs?

My broody hen has been isolated with her babies for 5 weeks eating medicated chick starter with them. She laid her first egg in months today. Can I eat the eggs? I can't figure out how to feed her anything different from the babies. Thanks.

Purina says you can, if it is medicated with amprolium:

You can always feed everyone flock raiser and offer oyster shell separately. I have never seen my chicks bother the oyster shell.

These babies went for the oyster shell, so I took it out. They are determined to do everything mama does.

I've heard of people making mesh cages around feeders, with holes big enough for the chicks to pop in and out, but the hen can't get in. Hope this helps!
