Can you feed Pekin ducks live fish? Is it even an option?

As an occasional treat it shouldn’t be a problem.

Yes, I bought feeder fish from a pet store and put them their pool with fresh water. They liked it, but I really expected a better reaction. They seem to enjoy frozen peas in the pool more.

We buy feeder goldfish on Saturdays for our ducks. We have a mixed bag of duck breeds and all 8 of them freak out over the fish. We have two small kiddie pools, 8 ducks and 100 fish. They dive into the water, swim with their rears up and take care of the fish in about 10 minutes. The pool looks like a bag of glitter exploded in it, because of all the scales. Our ducks love, absolutely love, live fish. I would recommend it, as a treat and as stimulation since they would do this in the wild, if they were out there.
