Can you get over your first true love?

Quote:
Definitely agree with this. At the end of this, I hope you can learn a lot about yourself and what you are looking for. I definitely don't suggest holding onto thoughts of "what if my husband dies, then I can seek this guy out", etc. ....

I agree. I don't think about any guys that I'd seek out if my SO were to die, and I hope he doesn't have anyone or women on a list he'd like to seek out if I die. My first love wasn't even love. I don't think I knew what love was and he sure didn't, either!

Same here.

If I were to fall in love...truly in love...right now, I doubt if any other guy would ever cross my mind, either past or present. It has been like that for me other times when I was in love...I barely even noticed other men in the world except the object of my affection.

Incredibly, this was my first love: http://www.global-sisterhood-network.org/content/view/1602/76/

We
went to J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas. He was a year ahead of me, and I thought he hung the moon! His family was kind, giving, and very involved in their church activities - as was John. We dated in 1982/83...then my family was transferred to Miami.

I was looking for him on FaceBook...as a curiosity....whatever happened to ____________ kind of thing. I almost fell out when I saw this! This poor woman. He broke her heart and shattered her whole world.

I would never have seen this coming - he seemed like a very nice guy on the surface. But then again, we were just kids. *shrug* It gives me the chills!
