there is nothing wrong with wanting to help a chuck,it is far better to know that someone is trying to help their girl out than just PTS,which is what the main caretaker of mine didnt do [chuck in avatar] when she was ill recently but saveable with AB.
am surprised the local vets dont do callouts if it is in a rural area-or around any,our vet does.

but woud definitely advise caution on using human medications with animals,as they havent been approved, tested and licenced for them, only a few have.
used to own fancy rats some years ago and our old vet was useless only ever prescribing small amounts of baytril for everything as they admitted they never worked with rats, there were times coud have gone for using human painkillers but online advice on doseages and useage was very conflicting, its dodgy but can perfectly understand the money worries.
some vets will probably automaticaly advise against using human meds purely because it takes away business from them, the rats old vet did.

-was going to suggest asking if they woud let the bill be paid off in small amounts,as our old vet allowed this but is that what the care credit is?

The part about the vet. I suppose they really need to watch their liability though.

eta Call a wildlife rehabilator in your area and they may be able to refer you to a vet that is more understanding. And is familiar with birds. I will look for link about this problem and send that.
