Can you give chickens their eggs scrambled?

Sorry for resurrecting the thread, but that kind of feels like cannibalism

It would be cannibalism if you killed a baby chick and fed it to baby chicks. I think it's only those who are ignorant of how the egg hatching process works that would call feeding cooked egg yolks to chicks cannibalism.

But the only example in defense of it being cannibalism is rather gross...

+1 i seldom post anymore because i guess i'm more country then a lot of people on here and their replies. I feed my chickens plenty of scraps and yes even chicken and eggs.

Well if you think about it feeding them the yolk is ok... but the rest is like feeding them a future chicken!

This is great information. I too have many chickens (20) and not even egg customers. We do not have a rooster. I've been scrambling up eggs and feeding it back to the girls. They love it. Glad to hear others do this. We have been wanting to grow our own food for the chickens. Well this works out well.

For us, we do not have a rooster, so this is not cannibalism because they are not fertilized eggs. Some human women eat their own placentas. I find that to be pretty gross, but it does happen and you don't hear of others having an issue about that.

Maybe if it's fertilized..... but ours aren't. (no rooster). I don't feel bad about it at all. It was not going to be a baby anyway.
