Can you give ducks a bath w/ soap?

I've heard whitening dog shampoo works well, along with baby soap. What ever you do make sure the duck ends up soap free! (The vinager step is mandatory. lol)

When my duck broke a toenail and bled half to death she got LOTS of blood on her stomach. Half her stomach was drenched and when it dried it was really disgusting. I wanted to use Dawn but was afraid of disrupting her natural oils. After several baths and a several days it did get washed away without soap thankfully

I know it is used on wildlife, like ducks, there is even a duckling on the front of some bottles, but I wasn't sure if its more of a "last resort" thing. Good to know it should be okay.

Thanks for all who replied. I just ended up using a little dawn dish soap and they seem to be fine!

Also, my ducks do have access to a kiddie pool and they clean themselves, however they still smell, which is why i asked this question.

Thanks.

My ducks smell and I want to give them a bath, but could I use soap? I don't want it to disrupt their natural oils, but I want them to be clean! Is there a special kind of soap I can use? And I wouldn't use a lot of soap on them either, just a tiny bit!
I have used dawn on my ducks a it worked like a charm! Just don’t use it on them a lot. Maybe at a extreme case only once every 1-2 months but if their not that dirty and don’t smell super super bad I would say wash them with it every 2-4 months. Remember to be extremely careful!!
