can you have one feather footed chicken mate with non feather footed chicken?

Seems to me a bantam hen mating with a standard or large cock would lay a small egg that would hatch a small chick that would then make up any difference in size as it grew. I mean, for heaven's sake, a Chihuahua can mate with a Great Dane and give birth just fine... I highly doubt a chick is going to outgrow it's egg--that just makes no sense, really. Nature is not that dumb...

I had two chicks from a bantam Cochin roo and a giant Cochin hen. The chicks weren't that big to start with. But boy did they get huge. They turned out to be two of the most gorgeous, biggest roosters I've ever seen.
