THANK YOU SO MUCH! I googled Buff Minorca, as I was looking at pics, the oldest son came behind me and says "Hey! There's tinkerbelle!". You called it perfectly! I knew they weren't orp's. but when you type in Buff Breeds the orps always come up.

Did you get Missy & Sydney along with the Rainbow Assortment? If so, I'd say Missy is a Blue Andalusian and Sydney is a Black Minorca. (Even if you didn't, I'd say the same thing. Well, I suppose I'd guess either Black Minorca or Black Leghorn for Sydney. LOL)

Oops!! I was just reading in the McMurray catalog next to the Andalusian section about the color blue. It said "Approximately 50% of the baby chicks will be all blue. The other 50% will be black, white, & black/white combinations." Sorry, my mistake. Sydney could be Black Minorca or Black Andalusian if you got her from the McMurray Rainbow assortment.

Yes Pioneer I split a Rainbow assortment with my cousin. At first I just wanted brown layers,but she talked me into it. I was supposed to just have 12,but she kept telling me to add more to my box. We wound up with 15 hens and one rooster. We lost a RIR to a stray dog, but so far no others. {Ron Paul is THE man!}

Missy makes dog squeak toy sounds when she eats. That's the only way to describe it. She also sneezes a lot too.

This morning,Molly, a RIR is up near the hen house by herself. Yesterday she spent an hr or more in there,but no egg. I think it's similar to a woman touring the OB wing before she delivers a baby. Fingers crossed today is the day.
