Your very welcome! But I've seen them hung from the middle of bator and they say it works great. But as for me forced air looks as if the air is being circulated all around to me it wouldn't matter.

Sounds like it's gonna be a nice one when you get done. But sometimes you just can't help chicks if their not meant to live.We can only do so much on our own to help them & even when the hen does the incubation herself some die for the same reason.

Nice incubator, Can't the tub of water be stored outside & have the mister inside?Only reason I'm asking is cause I have never used one before. But it is a very nice setup.I just have a tub sitting in the bottom with no water as of yet till day 18.But I don't see anything wrong with your setup. As long as your temp is between 95.5 to 100 & humidity should be no higher than 50% then on day 18 is should be raised to 65% to 70% But no higher.

I am far far far from an expert but I did have great luck making a homemade hatcher and had a question. Are you planning on hatching the chicks in the trays or moving them for lockdown? Wherever they hatch just needs to be protected so there are no gaps for them to fall through or get stuck in or anything. You've probably already thought about this, but just in case. Did you decide where to put your air vents? I think that over the heater at the top would be best, but just my guess! Did you get temp and humidity just right and holding steady? Good luck! It's going to be great!
