I thank you both. Sure looked like that to me but didnt know they could be so tiny... and soooooo sweet. She actually was flying down my street with cats chasing her just b4 dark a few nights ago. I thought she was a cockatiel but nope, it was a chicken. She was perfectly happy for me to catch her and she is safe with me now. I've put out feelers for her owner as she seems to be a pet, but am now hoping no one claims she is such a doll. I still have my coop out back for safe days, but a bringing her in for the eves till thats reinforced againand then get her a friend. Someone said they dont like friends???
Thanks so much. I was absolutely not going to get chickens again (have had for most of my last 45 years or so but here i amAwww, thank you for saving her! I would get a friend, yes. She is technically a gamefowl female, but Old English Game Bantams, especially the hatchery stock, have lost their game instincts. Moreover, she is a female, and as such, more tolerant of other birds
They certainly do like friends. A chicken needs other chickens in order to not become depressed. Do you have other chickens?I thank you both. I'm kinda late here but......... yep, I did bring her in nightly until I could secure the coop, and then her and now a perfect barred rock type are best of friends. Funny though, another neighbor was trying to give me a BEAUTIFUL silver silky type chicken to be her friend but I was pretty sure it was a roo and not for this tiny girl, wasn't going to chance these two perfect friendship. They certainly do like friends.
