Can you over fill an incubator?

How can you guys hand turn THAT many eggs for 18 days. . . .

I hadnd turn mine too. I find that over fifty or getting near sixty eggs, around day fifteen if you don't REALLY WATCH IT I get huge temp spikes up to 106 or so, because the chicks develop and start throwing off heat of their own. Then they stress, and kick in the eggs and throw off MORE heat and cook themselves. As long as you can keep your temps down near 100 or so, and keep all the plugs out for max ventilation you can have good hatches in a full incubator.

I don't hand turn like x and o hand turn. I feel around the outside for cooler eggs, pick them up and snuggle them into the middle of the pile, shoving the warmer eggs out, then just rub my hand over them like abra cadabra and mass roll them different ways and call it good. Takes about ten or twenty seconds.

Hi! There are times I've had four like that and it takes 11 minutes for me to to turn all four (if I don't piddle around, I'm inclined to be a piddler).
Multiply that times 3 turns a day and I've only spent just over a half-hour every day. My hubby made that argument when he brought home the new turners last week for my bday. He is so sweet and considerate to think of it.
BUT!
I can't justify losing space for 20+ eggs per incubator for just that few minutes a day. AND the new LG turners only holds 42 eggs! Ny old reliable turner has egg-cups for 48 eggs (the 2 next to the turner motor must be bantam eggs, but still 48 eggs).

That's something to watch. Mine will spike high for a couple of hours, and come back down. I haven't adjusted temps at all and all mine are running right at 102 in mid-day-21.
I found my cool spots in my incubators using Tom's infra-red-laser-thermometer-gizmo --- handy gadget for measuring surface temperature.

Wow! My husband would think that I have lost my mind if I had incubators stuffed like that!

He already thinks I'm going bonkers with one Little Giant incubator (with egg turner) and only 28 eggs in it! And I'll be getting more soon. Shhhh!!!! Those were some impressive pics, guys! I wanna here all about the hatching when the time comes.
