MJ's little flock

I topped up the crumble and that was all it took for the chicks to award me MVP of the day.

One day far off in the future, I would like to build a permanent little run within the big run. The puppy play pen panels work well but they're a little short for 5 week old chicks, there have been some fly outs lately, which leads to little ones crying to get back in. And opening a gap in the panels for me to go in and out is always a kerfuffle that takes both hands, so I can't go in while carrying things.

It would have much the same footprint as the existing temporary little run. And it could stay open for most of the year, allowing all the flock to use it if they wish. A human door at one end and a chicken door at the other would allow escapes from angry aunties. Places to hang or mount food and water at a range of heights would be icing on the cake.

But, the house needs expensive items that are more urgent than a little run, so it will have to wait its turn to deplete the savings.

I love having multiple coops and the ability to segregate my complex. I've done it so many times. You will truly appreciate it when you have it in place.
