Can you overfeed a sick chicken?

I have a sick chicken that is not eating well and is getting so skinny you can feel her bone underneath her. I think it is called the kneel bone.I've been feeding her baby food, yogurt, and Missing Link Super food supplement through a syringe. She keeps fighting me, but I feel she needs it. Is forcing it bad and can I feed her to much? She is a Japanese Bantam and only weighs 1 pound if not less.

Do not feed your hen with a syringe if she is eating, even if just a little, because you risk food going into the lungs which will cause death in seconds. Syringe feeding should only be done if there is no other way. And yes, you could feed her too much. The crop holds quite a bit so do not be too worried that you may have overfed, but should the crop be overfilled it could rupture. It is better to give favorite treats-all she will eat, and put vitamins in the water. Have you been doing anything else to help your hen recover? Posting her symptoms may help you ascertain what is wrong .Good luck.

Thank you for the reply. I have posted what is wrong with her under Emergencies,Injuries, Deseases,and Cures. Called Gasping for air only while lying down or being held. If I don't feed her she is just gonna wilt away to nothing. Only thing she eats well is egg. She only picks and drops the other food. When I syringe feed her I put the food on the side of her beak in the center and she begins to eat it since she feels it.I don't put the syringe in her mouth at all. When I say I force her I mean I won't let her get away and I still put the food on her beak because she eventually eats it.I've been giving her Nutri-Drench vitamins orally twice a day.(0.33cc each time). Thank you!
