I have had a 12 week silkie come down with wry neck ( I know thin because of BYC) I know how to treat it and have all the vitamins I need ( because of BYC). But what I can't find is how to prevent it. If some think it is a vitamins deficiency then if I give the rest of the flock Vitamins in the water then they should never get it right??? If so what vitamins and how much or is there other ways to give it?

Silkies tend to be more prone to neurological issues if they have a vaulted skull.

Aside from that I have found the thiamine blocker in medicated chick feeds can also cause later juvenile wry neck or stargazer symptoms. Removed from the medicated feed and provided a vitamin supplement turns this around within a couple weeks.

Hard boiled egg is best as a feed replacer, especially the yolk for protein.
