Can you "rebloom" an egg?

I was trying to decide how to go about selling my duck eggs when I stumble across this farm that sells them online. They say that they REBLOOM the duck eggs???

I can find NOTHING online about this.
Has anyone ever heard of this technique?
I mean.. I get weird visions trying to figure out how this is even possible?

I have heard of replacing the bloom with food grade mineral oil.... eggcartons.com has it

I know a lady who "reblooms" her eggs with beeswax. Claims that they will last for over a year if she does that.

You got me! I have no idea what they are talking about.

The bloom is the film that covers the egg when it is laid. It dries quickly and provides a barrier to bacteria and keeps in moisture. If it is washed off, the egg becomes significantly more susceptible to spoilage.

thanks. I knew what the bloom was, I just couldn't, for the LIFE OF ME, figure HOW you could rebloom an egg. I mean, geesh, I can't imagine trying holding my duck still for that long! LOL

The food grade mineral oil that Eggcartons.com sells is exactly for that purpose. It is used after washing the eggs.
